Educational Technology

In addition to standard classroom teaching experience and experience of working with students on their research projects, Dr. Sun has great enthusiasm for developing advanced technologies for college teaching and learning. His educational applications over the past three years have employed a variety of modern technologies and computer languages: HTML, Javascript, Java, Director+Lingo, and Flash+Actionscript. He is a team member of LightCone Interactive affiliated with the University of Tennessee.

The products of LightCone Interactive are either complete web-deliverable science courses or alone-standing modules in CDs, which are all structured by integrated interactive animations. Reviewers have rated these projects at the top of their respective fields in interactive electronic technology for educational applications.

As a co-PI in a submitted proposal to the NSF, we plan to apply the scalable vector graphics to the new generation of interactive animations. For a brief summary of some of the completed educational technology products, please see these examples.

Technical Note: Many of the applications in the above link use Flash 5. You must have the free Flash 5 Player installed on your computer. If you have any doubt, or if something doesn't work, install the current version of Flash 5 Player from macromedia.com before proceeding.
