Because of the details of hydrogen's atomic structure, the Balmer Series is in the visible spectrum and the Lyman Series is in the the UV. Here is an illustration of the lines in the hydrogen Balmer spectrum.

The line at the far left represents the series limit, where many transitions bunch together.
