Star Birth Clouds in the Eagle Nebula (M16)

This animation illustrates the location of the star forming Region M16 (Eagle Nebula), which is in the constellation Serpens Cauda (head of the serpent) and about 7000 light years away. The animation begins with a star map and then uses successive magnifications of telescopic shots to show the details of the star-forming region. Usage: Use the "Play" button and "Stop" button to control play. "Home" returns to the beginning from any point.
