The Influence of Mass
Once again we see from the
graph in the adjacent panel the central influence of mass on stellar
evolution. All important quantities, from temperature to time on the main sequence to luminosity, have a
very strong dependence on mass. Although it is not the only consideration, mass is by far the most important
quantity fixing the destiny of a star.
