Statistical Argument
The arguments of the left panel are statistical in nature. They do not mean that
there could be no habitable planet around an M star. They just imply that, because the habitable
zone is very small, the chance of finding life may be much lower for M stars than for K-G-F stars
if we look at many such stars. Whether life exists around any one M star is a separate question.
