As gigantic as they are,
galaxies are not the largest objects in the Universe. We observe that galaxies assemble on larger
scales into groups, clusters, and superclusters of galaxies. At all of these levels of organization,
there is strong evidence that most of the matter in the Universe is felt by its gravity, but not seen by our
telescopes at any wavelength.
