The following animations illustrate some of the calculations of structure formation described in the left panel. All are streaming animations of the length indicated.

1. Movie 1: Growth of gas density with decreasing redshift (327 kB).
2. Movie 2: Growth of gas temperature (leading to X-ray luminosity) with decreasing redshift (231 kB).
3. Movie 3: Fly-through of gas density structure (1.2 MB).
4. Movie 4: Fly-through of X-ray luminosity (467 kB).

These simulations employ a mixture of hot and cold dark matter.
