Globular clusters
may contain 100,000 to 1,000,000 stars packed with sufficient density that
that we cannot resolve individual stars using Earth-based telescopes.
The globular clusters are very old, in some cases comparable to the age of the galaxy
itself. Therefore, they contain some of the first stars formed in our galaxy.
