Coronal Holes and the Solar Wind (2)
The adjacent animation shows one revolution of the Sun in UV light. The coronal holes are again the
darker areas concentrated near the poles. As discussed in the right panel, coronal holes
correspond to regions where the Sun's magnetic field lines do not close on themselves.
