More Realistic Model of a Pulsar

This animation shows a more realistic simulation of the pulsar lighthouse model. The region of closed magnetic field lines is shown in purple, the region of open magnetic field lines is shown in red, and the region of radio emission is shown in white. The pulsar is a 10-km wide neutron star located at the center, with its rotation axis oriented at 45 degrees. The magnetic field axis is tilted 30 degrees from the vertical.
