Cosmic Inflation and Flat Universes
The current theoretical
prejudice
(because it is predicted by the
theory of cosmic inflation)
is that the Universe is flat, with exactly the amount of mass required to
stop the expansion.
But this is not yet confirmed. Recent data suggest that if
the density is near closure density the cosmological constant is not zero.
We shall consider cosmic inflation in Chapter 25.
