This animation illustrates a supercomputer simulation of initial galaxy formation under the influence of gravity from cold dark matter. Usage: Click "Play" to begin. Continue to click "Play" when action stops. "Step" moves forward one step and "Back" moves backwards one step. Click "Stop" to halt. "Home" returns to the beginning from any point.
