Polarized Light
As we have noted earlier in Chapter 5,
the emission of light by accelerated electrons spiraling
in a strong magnetic field is nonthermal and commonly produces polarized light.
The polarization of light from AGN suggests that they accelerate electrons in strong magnetic fields.
