Resolution of the VLT
The top right animation illustrates the resolution enhancement of the VLT
obtained on some test images with and without adaptive optics turned on. The
(intentionally bad) initial sequence of
images have resolutions of only about 8 arc seconds;
the corrected images have resolutions below 1 arc second.
